3D Printing / Painted Models / Tsuyu Asui / Froppy

Tsuyu Asui / Froppy - My Hero Academia

This is another 3d printable model designed by DiNamuuu3D. This was only my second time 3d-printing or painting a model, right after Lucy. But, she is a huge step up from Lucy. The model was still printed on the Ender 3 V2(this was the last model I printed on an FDM printer), but I ended up getting better results. It still took many, many tries to print(the head and hair are all one large piece), and you can still see layer lines in the hair. But the paint job much better than what Lucy got. I’m pretty pleased with the eyes, the lenses of the goggles, and the weathering on her costume, in particular. There are some subtle color variation in the skin tone that I like, but I could never get it to come across in photos. Same thing with her hair color, which is a dark green as it is in the anime, but appears mostly black in the photos. And this time, I used gloss, matte, and satin finishes on various parts as appropriate, rather than just blasting the whole model with gloss. The original model had a large rock as a base, but instead of printing that, I just headed outside and searched around for an actual rock to use instead. Washed it, drilled a pair of holes, epoxied in some metal rods, and mounted her right to it. It’s now a damn-heavy model, but she’s certainly never going to tip over, unlike some manufactured models I won’t name… *cough*DamnYouBulma*cough*.
